Welcome to my blog!

I’m the communications director for a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. and I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for over 25 years. We have three children (all over the age of 17)–two of whom are on the autism spectrum.

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and writing and I like to travel but prefer traveling with my husband and children as opposed to traveling by myself.

I am only 5 feet tall. I was 12-years-old when I finally grew to be 60 inches tall and I was ecstatic! My father’s side of the family is tall but my mother’s side? My mother is 5’4″ and that’s rather tall for the women in her family. My great-grandmother, my grandmother, and my great aunt were all between 4’10” and 5’0″ so getting to the 5-feet mark was quite the accomplishment!

I’m currently heavier than I should be and at five feet and over 50 years old of age, losing weight is not as easy as it used to be. Even when I was younger, it was hard but I miss being able to go to the petite rack and pull out a size 4P or 6P and if I liked the color or style, purchase the item. I didn’t have to worry about hiding bulges or rolls that I felt like covering. Those were the days!

I’m on a journey to be healthier–and to present myself in a more elegant, job appropriate way. So, for now, I’m focusing on being healthier and, if weight loss comes along the way, wonderful!

Join me on my journey!
